This summer, for the second consecutive year, La Casita will offer a free youth summer program for girls ages 8 and older to learn dance and choreography while they explore their potential in areas of science and technology. In addition, there will be two preview days, June 28 and 29, where girls can experience a taste of the program before it begins.

The three-week STEM + Dance program begins on July 15 and concludes with a dance performance by participants on August 2. Each day of programming will run from 10:00am-4:00pm and will consist of a dance class, a science workshop, and a visit from a guest speaker who will teach participants about their career in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).

This program is offered in partnership with WCNY and the NYC-based organization Girls Rise Up, founder of the nationally acclaimed STEM from Dance program. Support comes from Syracuse University, Central New York Community Foundation, United Way of Central New York, Allyn Family Foundation, Gifford Foundation, Micron Foundation, OneGroup, Wegmans, and Drs. Me’Shae and James Rolling.
