A special event was held on November 9, 2023 at the museum for SU alumni based in the Washington, D.C. area. The program included a tour of the exhibit by SU alum and curator Dan Piazza, followed by a presentation on La Casita’s community collecting and research project about Latino Baseball by Tere Paniagua, Executive Director, Office of Cultural Engagement for the Hispanic Community at SU.

During the 2014-2015 academic year, La Casita partnered with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in a multi-year research project that resulted in the museum’s “Pleibol!” exhibition program (2021-2023). Selected pieces from this project remain on view at La Casita, and more information about the exhibit can be found here.

“Baseball: America’s Home Run” is the National Postal Museum’s first fully bilingual exhibition, and will remain on view through January 2025.
