This program was designed by student members of the Society of Hispanic Professionals in Engineering (SHPE) at Syracuse University to introduce young participants in our community to the sciences. Workshops are designed around creative, fun projects that teach students the fundamental principles of science and mathematics. This program is open to children ages 7-12.

In collaboration with the North Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters and the Spanish Action League of Onondaga County, La Casita has developed a 6 week program that will introduce a group of teens to carpentry. As a part of this program, participants will complete a simple building project working with wood, where they will learn basic carpentry skills and the fundamentals of safety.
